Time Change Scheduled For Traditional Service
A recent mailing was sent outlining the Church Council's decision at its June meeting to change the starting time for our traditional first service to 9:30 a.m. beginning September 10th. At the root of this difficult decision was recent feedback from members and visitors alike who had expressed strong feelings that Pastor Mark should be able to remain through the entire first service and greet congregants at the conclusion of the service. In arriving at this decision, considerations included that both services should have full pastoral representation, time for Sunday School for adults and children between services, The Corner could not start later without jeopardizing its current attendance, and John Mattson assured us that the choir could manage an earlier starting time. Although it is understood that a 9:30 a.m. starting time could cause challenges for some members, we pray that all members and constituents will look at this issue with the perspective of what is better for the church and our community as a whole as we experience change and growing pains. Please feel free to contact me or anyone on Church Council with your questions or concerns.
